I can tell you that these three (assuming they meet maturity) will be pretty lucky - the mother avoided the dog - just - the nest (if you can call it that) was just below Marj's walking boot when she spotted it - she shouted and stepped away just as I blundered into the same area and missed the eggs by a boot-heel. Now I aint never shot grouse (or anything else) but I understand why you would, these are the most irritating birds ever - exploding in noise when you are literal two feet from them scaring the shit out of you. So with no prejudice I hope they get whats coming to them in due course.
