Bob Irwin teams up with RSPCA

The RSPCA is teaming up with Bob Irwin, the father of the late Steve Irwin, on two major conservation projects.

RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty says they will help Mr Irwin's bid to save the southern hairy-nosed wombat in return for Mr Irwin's help to establish a new wildlife hospital at Wacol, in Brisbane's west.

Mr Beatty says the partnership is a win for both sides.

"What Bob will bring is over 50 years experience working with Australian native wildlife," he said.

"He of course was the original founder of Australia Zoo and we really value his expertise and his lifetime of knowledge when it comes to wildlife."
