Celebrate the Crocodile Hunter
11 November 2007
Crikey! The countdown has begun for one of the biggest days in Australia Zoo’s history with Steve Irwin Day on Thursday, November 15 to celebrate the one and only Crocodile Hunter.
The day is action-packed to remember the famous conservationist and what he was known for: family, wildlife conservation and fun.
The day kicks off with an unveiling of a very special tribute to Steve by Terri Irwin, then the Crocoseum will be rocking with the world premiere of three new songs performed live by Bindi.
And the big names keep coming with both Olivia Newton John and Jimmy Barnes set to perform in a day Terri promised would be remembered for years.
“We can’t wait to celebrate Steve’s amazing life the way he would have wanted through an action-packed day at the zoo,” Terri said.
“It will be an unforgettable event and it is wonderful to have supporters such as Olivia and Jimmy behind us for this awesome day.”
Terri will also launch her new book My Steve and conduct some special book signings throughout the day.
The zoo will host more activities than you can poke a stick at with a Khaki Catwalk Parade judged by Bindi herself and everyone who wears khaki on the day receives 10% off admission and a free khaki wristband.
There will also be a beach with a huge crocodile sand sculpture, sand sculpture workshops and a visit from surf lifesavers.
Or make history yourself by telling your conservation hopes for the future and be included in the Australia Zoo time capsule.
Landcare Australia will give the first 3000 zoo guests a very rare Wollemi Pine, once thought to be extinct, and cricket legend Glenn McGrath will be on hand for autographs and tips on how you can help save the planet.
It will be an exciting day so make sure you arrive early and beat the traffic!
