Cannonball.jpg

This is an iron cannonball (nonexplosive) that was fired into the Elizabethtown, KY when the square was being used as a barracks. This was a grab shot out the car window as I was heading home. I am still a day behind posting. I hope to be current by tomorrow and hopefully will have another Illustrated Wordsmithing photo then.

I live in Richmond Ky, and I travel ALOT through Elizabethtown to visit cemetaries. Sadly I think this cannonball is gone now. Thats what I heard and shamefully it may be true. Some people here tend to not appreciate the beauty of simplicity. Thank you so very much for preserving one of my cherished memories : )
