Tour Eiffel: Night on the Seine

Just getting a start at editing photos from a week in Paris. This was taken while the tower was glittering and a bateau mouche sailed by under the Pont d'Iena. Not much PS trickery here - just a bit of lightening on the leaves in the foreground. The City of Lights, naturally, has a lot of light pollution which tends to light up the cloudy sky in that reddish-brown color.

I like the blur effect to make it look more like a painting, but is that why you chose F8 with a 200 iso? Just the blur alone makes it look as grainy as if it were at 1600 iso. In situations like that I'm going for the biggest F stop possible to avoid having to increase the ISO and therefore reduce image quality.

Wow! This is the most unique capture of this Grand Dame I have ever seen. Well done! Dee

Oh this is so good! Where to begin to critique this? Firstly, it's an outstanding picture of on the world's most photographed icons! I am particularly amazed how the tree foliage adds to the overall picture but almost merges with the sky. The river detail just adds even more to the composition. And this is such a great position to take the tower from. Hope you negotiated the traffic safely!

Can't wait to see more of your Paris pictures.
