Deane, you are one of my radio heroes! As a kid growing up in the Twin Cities, I spent hours each day listening to KDWB/63. It was you who hired Rob Sherwood...and for that, I will always be grateful. He was one of my early influences. From the time I was given my first transistor radio for my third birthday (1967), I knew I wanted to "be on the radio" when I grew up! Years later, I attended Brown Institute and began the life of a roaming radio gypsy. Have headphones, will travel!
One of my first gigs was nights at KKEZ in Fort Dodge, back in 1986-87. Imagine my surprise when I found the early KWMT photos and audio on your site. Myself and several former KWMT/KKEZ coworkers absolutely love these. Thank you so much for preserving this piece of Iowa radio history and making it available to us.
