The Marathon motor car was manufactured from 1910-1914 by the Southern Motors Works (later called Marathon). Four models, all touring cars, were powered by engines of 4 cylinders, 30-35 hp and 6s of 50 hp, with wheelbases from 98 to 125. The first production Model T Ford was assembled in Detroit in October of 1908. The Marathon plant closed operations in 1914 due to financial difficulties. It is reported that there are only 4 Marathon cars still in existence
