almost my whole family worked at fair park, i used to go there very young til the park closed.I remember so many memories..where they filmed coal miners daughter down there,or having lunch with my mom in the saloon houses,the trash eating lion,the stone tables i remember was a storm and it picked one of the tables up and broke it they were a ton,,,we got free tickets and rides sometimes,I wish i could find pics from late 70s ann all 80s til it closed cause from my grandfather on train,aunts and uncles on the kiddy rides,also my brother worked various jobs,my mom on the tilt o world,my dad on the skydiver,my sister on cotton candy and we had friends down there as well.it was a fun place to hang out,Thanks for sharing these pics! my brother gary kelley and me beverly kelley went here on sat. with our grandmother. back in the 60s we rode every thing . the turnpike was so fun and my favorite was the hand cars , so i could get behind my brother and bump him i loved all my times there. they were the best. we would come from hendersonville, tn to nashville to see our grandmother and she took us on the bus. thank you for these great pics of fair park . it was best time of my life . beverly kelley mitchell from hendersonville, tn.
