Thanks for your comment Dennis. In answer to your question, yes, most of the critters were found in my garden or in nearby parks.
You have a great collection of varied shots here!

We have exchanged a few messages in the past. I enjoy all of your galleries. I am doing some work lately for our local symphony orchestra and created a special gallery for them. Always looking for constructive comments from experienced photographers like yourself. I really like your shot of the cello's..
thanks--Jim B.

Hi Dennis... Wonderful galleries!!

with my d200 I use the center focus for flight shots, with the focus lock on short., I try to remember to shut the VR off on my 200-400VR, and set the limiter to 6m-infinity.

ps.. a lot of the sharpness I get comes with the editing in PS.

take care.

Dennis,

Just discovered your galleries (shame on me, but you are now on my list of favorites). Have enjoyed spending time just browsing. Really admire your talent and zest for life. Especially interested in your border collie photos and herding endeavors. Again, thanks for sharing such wonderful images...

Thanks for your comments in my gallery - they are appreciated. I've replied to your questions in the relevant comments threads, and no, you are not a pest!

You have some very nice shots in your galleries. I don't think Marmite goes with Jelly Beans though...

Dennis, thank you for your comments on my PaD photo today. I appreciate it -- it's just what I hope to get out of it! Yes, my intention for the shot was similar to your barbells shot :-) I'm learning! I shall have a browse in your galleries...

Hi, the bird that you commented on in my PAD gallery is a Crested Bulbul. Took the photo while we were in Hong Kong just a few days ago.

Hi Dennis!
Thanks for taking a peak at my photos and I'll start to include a few words with each photo I post as I must admit I like reading what people have to say too! Cheers! Cheryl

Hi Dennis,
Thank you for the nice comment about my SP. I really hate doing those, but they make you grow, you know? I appreciate you stopping by!

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for visiting my pad and leaving a comment. I had to laugh at the three ears comment as that is exactly how it looks, lol. I am sure you figured out, by now, that was really T's paw. :-)

Dennis,
I'm curious if you are related to the Steinauer's of Steinauer, Nebraska.
My mom is a Steinauer.
Thanks.

So much fun to view your many galleries---you have a good eye for compositon and light! And it's great to see so many folks I know from both the Y and MCRRC. Keep it up---seems like you're experimenting more and with your natural talent that can only be good---

Hi, I thought maybe you went to Iceland? Anyhow, you are not green, I checked! Yes when
we cruised Greenland, every clear night (in September) we saw Aurorae...my favorite thing. Betchart runs an Aurora trip in Alaska in March. Betchart is a good travel agency, on the web. Nice to hear from you. Gotta go back to your galleries and catch up with what you're doing.

The particular manniquins that I have are called Manikins. They cost me $6 a pop and they are 8 inches tall. You can pick these up at any art store, I'm sure.
Thanks for looking at my gallery!

John,

You're right regarding my dearth of redheads; great idea on the Redhead gallery. Unfortunately, I don't have one (or more) living with me, so it might be tougher for me. Maybe if I do the gallery I'll end up with a "model" as lovely as yours. :-)

dds

p.s. I will let you know how the project goes.
Guest 28-Dec-2004 15:53
Thanks Dennis for the kind comments in my guestbook. If you do "dig out old negs and slides and take a walk down memory lane", let me know. I'd like to see them.

Also for someone who "is partial to redheads" there are precious few in your galleries. It would be a good project to try to rectify that. You could subgallery your excellent portrait gallery!

Dennis, Haven't taken any self portraits...but you've got me thinking.
BTW,What do you mean take without permission and the mouse gets it? Just curious.
Your pictures and your activities are inspiring.

Howdy Dennis,
Actually I'm either American nor German, but I've been living in Bavaria for 36 years. I was born in Prague and I was forced to leave Czech Rep. after Russian invasion. I've got some friends in Fl and Co. I spent some months in US and like the American way of live. I only dislike the present american president. The picture I shot is a photoshop hybrid. The statue is Bavaria patron in Munich, I shot the flag picture in Fort Myers in Fl during presidential election 2000. Have a nice day and Ciao Tepold

Dennis: Thanks for taking such great pictures at the Marine Corps Marathon Hospitality Suite. Your photographs really captured the pre-race excitement!

Re: Jap garden image. Thank you for your comment. I was not aware of the fact that an innocent abbreviation of the word Japanese may be viewed as an insult, or God forbid, a racist expression. I have amended the title accordingly of corse, and I thank you for your remark.

Thanks Dennis for you comments. I have been lucky to experience a different side of Iraq. I should point out that Kurdistan has not seen the problems that the south has been afflicted with. Hopefully it will stay that way but I don't think so. I cant wait to go back there.

Dennis,
Enjoyed the visit, probably my favorite was "My Dominatrix Bitch". Looks like you are getting great images from your new D70.
