More of Yala N.P: Dec 2002

Work is finding me in Sri Lanka again with more oportunities to revisit Ruhuna, better known as Yala National Park. This visit was in late December, during the northeast monsoon rains. Pictures taken are with a Canon EOS D60 with either the 100-400 IS or 500mm f/4.5 lens.

Again what a wonderful picture of the Black Necked stork... I think Yala has only a dozen or so birds and if they are not saved they will be extint soon. Is it the rarest bird in the world in one country..? Why no one has done more reserch on this exquisite bird.
