Hello Dawn, My brother, Mike Johnston, passed on this site to me as I now live in New Zealand. The Auckland Zoo is a good customer of mine so I passed it on to them. I had 3 people from the zoo send me a note as follows:The Bird in your photo at the Auckland Zoo is a New Zealand Pied Stilt. Cheers Dave Tuki, Safari Guide Leader. ALSO FROM THE DIRECTOR! Thanks for the note re the photos - the bird with the long red legs is a black-winged stilt.
