bottlewashermincontrastACR.jpg

This version is an extreme contrast-compressing export from the raw .AWR file using Adobe Camera Raw 3.4 to sRGB directly. The parameters for ACR for this are: White Balance - 'As Shot'; Exposure -2 (that's MINUS two!); Shadows 0; Brightness 150 (the maximum possible); Contrast +25 (default); Saturation 0; Sharpness 0; Luminance Noise 0; Colour Noise 0; Contrast Curve, Linear. Much finer detail is visible (the point of focus may be around the further worker, his Adidas shirt label is about as sharp as any other low contrast target area). This processing represents a truly extreme adjustment of the 12-bit raw data, without any attempt to suppress the shadow noise which results from maximum brightness (Gamma) boost. Red channel saturation in the raw file has resulted in a single pixel bleeding (colour fringe effect) to the left hand edge of extremely bright areas (shirt). This can not be corrected using the Lens controls of ACR, which adjust chromatic aberration (different physical size of focused R, G and B images). However, see the next example.
