This is a 100 per cent clip of an in-camera JPEG hand-held with the 400mm lens at f/3.2, nearly at minimum focus, in badly lit indoor conditions. Our house is very old and faded, with many layers of paint (and several of dust in inaccessible places - or badly lit ones!). Here, at 1/40th the VR has stabilised my shot well enough to record individual specks of dust and strands of cobweb on a 200-year-old architrave and boss. The JPEG compression is quite strong but the detail survives.
