The "Rocks" might well consist of only a few city blocks but in this small geographical area there
are some 13 small public houses. In my foolish youth it was a mark of some distinction to have completed
a "Rocks Pub Crawl", during which one managed at least one drink at each of the pubs in a single
day. This particular pub looks to have been designed and built at some stage in the 1920s or 1930s,
making it one of the later ones.
