This long, eight kilometre stretch of sand is called Cronulla Beach. Sometimes it is referred to
as the "Cronulla Beaches" given that it is actually divided into a number of individual beach
precincts. Each of these is effectively distinguished by the presence of its own Surf Life Saving
Club. I used to think that this long lonely northerly section adjoining the Botany Bay Park was
called Wanda Beach but actually it is more properly just called "Cronulla Beach". This section has
no organised surfing or swimming facilities and is mostly utilised by SUV drivers, fisher persons,
joggers or hikers. As you get further around, you eventually come to Wanda Beach, Eloura Beach,
North Cronulla Beach and South Cronulla Beach. There! I'm glad we've got all that straightened out
at long last.
