I figured it was time for a Blue Mountains picture - else people might think that I'd moved. This is part of the Jamison Valley as viewed from "Cliff View" Lookout near Katoomba. The central
elevated plateau is Mount Solitary and the one to the right is Narrow Neck. If you look just to the right of the tourists you can see a slight peak with just the suggestion of some bare rock. When
viewed more closely, that rocky landmark looks a little like a large derelict building and actually goes by the name of "Ruined Castle". About a month ago, a British backpacker went walking out to
Ruined Castle and then decided to continue on to Mt Solitary. He promptly became lost. Twelve wintery days later, having almost been given up for dead, he stumbled upon a campsite and was rescued.
