At the end of the wharf you could gaze out over Walsh Bay. In recent decades, the industrial origins of Port Sydney
have largely been replaced by residential, recreational, national reserve style developments. The harbour certainly is
cleaner, the water clearer, the marine life more numerous and healthy but much of the character seems to have gone.
We were impressed by how empty and idle the waterway seemed at this point.
