I wish people would stop and consider what the world would look like if America didn't exist - in the style of the classic Frank Capra movie "It's a Wonderful Life" which depicts the dire straits of Bedford Falls if George Bailey didn't exist. In our world, there would be no freedom or democracy, no equal rights for women or minorities, the entire world would be ruled by evil dictatorships; Europe, North & South America would all be ruled by descendents of Stalin's communists and Hitler's German Nazi stormtroopers while the Japanese Imperialists would dominate all of Asia and oppressive Islamic extremists would rule the Middle East and Africa. All of these regimes are infamous for systematic and wide-spread torture, rape, and mass murder. Truth is America has liberated more people than all other countries combined - literally billions of people would not have the freedom they take for granted today if it wasn't for the untiring efforts of the American Soldier. Freedom isn't free - because so many brave souls laid their lives on the line for everyone else.
