A view looking out onto southern Lake Huron from Grand Bend's harbour. It's a beautiful, unseasonably warm weekend that has allowed us to get the bottom of our sailboat, "Respite" ready for launch on April 24th. It will be tied up near the lighthouse in this picture.

And as you can see, there is clear water over the horizon... for over a hundred miles to the north in fact, although it is only about 30 miles directly across Lake Huron.

We'll be heading out of sight of land come mid-summer!
