This is the waterfront in San Ysidro. We stopped in this town in 2005, walking up the hill into a pleasant middle class suburban town. This time we walked the other direction from the station and tried to get down to the River. I was thinking that we were walking into the "wrong side of the tracks" but instead we found ourselves walking with a big wall on one side of the road and the river on the other, but it was impossible to get very close as it was all fenced off...
