Here you can see the string lines that I used to keep the galvanised piers in line with the walls. Also note the laser level that was used to maintain correct height. A spirit level was also used to keep the piers vertical as I poured the concrete around each pier base. Note the wooden beam that rests on top of 2 piers - this was notched so that it locked the tops of the piers at the correct separation.
