Indian Country 2004 - Photo Trip Diary

These fifty four photographs were made on my annual photography tour of Indian Country, loosely based on the wonderful Autombile Club map of the same name. The circular route took us through New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. From Albuquerque, where our group of photographers met, we traveled along Route 66 to the pueblo of Acoma and Gallup, then to Canyon de Chelly, Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon and back to Albuquerque.

Hi Dave. It lookslike you had a great trip! You certainly took some great shots. I especially like Spider Rock, Gold in Canyon de Chelly, and the Church of San Felipe. I walked to Old Town last year the day that I stayed over, but the sky was gray and the light was very flat. I love your special effects. Way cool! I am again trying to figure out Pbase-- hopefully I'll have a few images on before the night's over.

I once visited New Mexico, and I didn't see what you saw. Well, I probably saw some of what you saw, but I can only wish I'd seen it the way you did. There are photographers, and then there are people who just take pictures ... . Thanks for the lessons.

My favorite of all of your galleries to date. I commented on a couple of individual photos but the feelings expressed in those comments blend throughout this gallery - I am feverishly plugging my spare change into my "Travel With Dave Again" jar.
