Based on DNA results this Boyett line goes back to 1755 Wayne Co. NC from John Ballard and Sarah Boyte.
Uncle JOHN U. LANGSTON – Arkansas – b. 1863 d. 1925
The 1900 Indian Territory, Chickasaw Nation, Thackerville Town census reflects Uncle John U. Langston, age 36 and Aunt Florence Dalton Langston, age 26 having been married 10 years and no children. Also in the household was JAMES T. FLOYD, age 7, with an indicated relationship as “ward”. John U. was born in AR with both parents born in AL. Florence was born in AR with parents born in NC and AR. James was born in IT with parents born in GA and TX. The 1910 Census reflects a change in relation for James to “adopted son” but still carries the Floyd name.
The 1910 AR Census indicates LIBBIE BOYETT, age 33, as head of family still living in Jefferson Co. AR after George W. died in 1909. This census record indicates that she had 8 children and 4 are still living. The family has a lock of hair from a Heather Boyett who was believed to be a daughter who died at a young age, perhaps between Samuel and Doy.

At some point after 1910 but before 1920 the children were taken to Love Co., Thackerville, OK to live with Uncle John U. Langston and Aunt Florence Dalton Langston. It is unknown what happened to Libbie but we believe she remarried. Libbie Durman/Diarman Boyett was the daughter of Emma V. Dalton Diarman who was the sister of Florence Dalton Langston from Drew Co. AR. This is the same Langston farm with a different census name due to OK statehood in 1907. The 1920 Census list along with Uncle John and Aunt Florence, Samuel Boyett age 14 (great nephew), John D. Boyett age 12 (great nephew), Georgia M. (great niece). This is the only record having Doy Boyett listed as John D. Boyett.
The 1930 Census indicates Aunt Florence, age 56 as head of household and Doy Boyett, age 23, as her nephew. Next door was Jim Floyd, age 36 his wife Rena, age 32 and a son age 4. Doy married at age 24 and started the next generation of Boyett’s on the Langston farm and upon the death of Aunt Florence the farm passed on to the Boyett family.
