Thank you for posting all of this information. I am descended through the James Boyett/Sabre Sasser line also. Finding all of this information was very interesting. I also have a connection through marriage to the Kersey line.

My relationship to the Ballards is from my mother's side of the family; my grandfather was William Wallace "Bill" Ballard and GG was William Wallacer "Wal" Ballard. My great-great grandfather was Elijah J. "Lige" Ballard who was born in Mississippi about 1818 and died in Chesbrough, Louisiana. I'm fairly confident my 5th GGG was John Ballard, born 1718 in Virginia and died 1773; it appears he was married to Ann Sayer (1720-1779), Will a maternal DNA help my efforts to discover additional ancestors? Any advice would be appreciated; I'm new to this kind of research. Thanks in advance.

Ga.Their daughter Abedi Ann Boyett married John William Pittman.Their daughter Ida Pittman married my great grandfather Richard Davis Crozier.I remember as a small boy seeing my great grandmother Ida in the home of my great uncle near Cotton Hill. She was in her late 90s and blind but got around with a cane. The Cotton Hill cemetery is full of Croziers and Boyetts.

I do not have surname Howell, but am most interested in Howell & Blackman Groups 12 and Howell #5.
I am trying to see if HOWELL was maiden name of my ancestress b.c mid 1750s who left a will in Craven Co N.C c1823. She (married name STEWART) had a descendant with given names Hollis HOWELL (1st and middle). Being female I am having a very difficult finding connected names in my genealogy.
This Stewart line had connections in Old Dobbs Co and Duplin Co N.C. The above connected to John BLACKMAN Becton of Lenoir Co NC. whose mother was Mary BLACKMAN b.c1752.
I have a BENNETT BLACKMAN b.c1773 d.c1850 Jefferson Co, Texas in my files. This Bennett Blackman is not of the above Blackman's to my knowledge. He is connected in my line thru another surname: COLLINS.. Elizabeth Collins m. Bennett BLACKMAN. Elizabeth Collins was a sister to my direct COLLINS ancestor b.1768N.C. I seem to have a BLACKMAN connected in two of my lines.

My cousin did a dna test for me and the name Boyatte and Cole showed up in the distant. I truly don't understand dna and had no one to ask for advice but I'm curious if the name 'Dobbs' has showed up any where in your family.
thank you, Barbara Hagy
William Dobbs approx. 1791 or so was my great greatgrandfather and I still can't find him 'for sure'. A lot has shown up in Ancestry but when I try to find an actual connection it always falls through. Our dna goes to 'positively' to William Dobbs 1836 - 1914 wayne county Kentucky married to Martha Miller. Past this William we have a dead end. Either we have a person that was adopted, or else. The William that we are looking for was married to a Nancy?? and at one time loved in Bedford County Tennessee 1850 census. Later census shows a Nancy, Phoebe and William living in Wayne county Kentucky.

What's the significance of SNP & Haplotree from FamilyTree DNA? Mine is R-M207. Did I snooze through this during your talk?

I'm looking to prove that Gincy A. (Jane) (Pike) Boyett is the sister of John Floyd Pike. I am attempting to prove to DAR/SAR standards that John Floyd Pike is the son of William and Bethenia (Reeves) Pike of Randolph County, AL. I need any documents, family letters, bibles, deeds, probate records, etc., anything that definitely ties John Floyd Pike into the family. I have the probate file of Franklin Erwin Boyett, Gincy A. Pike's husband, from Tallapoosa County, AL that names all of their children.

John Floyd Pike is my 2nd great grandfather. His daughter Martini Josephine (Pike) Reese is my great grandmother.

Any assistance with John Floyd Pike will be greatly appreciated.

Hi David-
I am looking for information on Rhoda J. (surrelda) Boyatt. She was the daughter of Jordan Boyatt and sister to Mehala Boyatt. If I am right my family tree just became a bush..lol. Mehala Boyatt is my great great grandmother...thru Elmina King on my fathers maternal line. But I have also found a marriage between General Sherman Watson and Rhoda J. Boyatt in 1884. This is where I need help. My great grandfather was Ransom James Watson, born June 1885 (father of Walter, my grandfather). I see him in the 1900 census with William and Recebba Boyd (I am assuming the name is incorrect) listed as their nephew aged 15. I never see a divorce record for Sherman and I never see Rhoda again in any census. If I am right, these ladies are doubly related to me...Can you help?

Thank you

Hello all,
I am a descendant of the Boyett's from Wayne County North Carolina. Sharrack Boyett, b. 1764 is the furthest I can go back. Thomas James Boyett, b. 1778 is also a descendant and his son Jesse Perry Boyett, b. 1813 also. They moved from North Carolina to Alabama and then to southern Arkansas with Jesse Perry Boyett and some of his siblings. I am learning that at least one sibling, Nancy Boyett, b. 1832 married Jesse H. Medley and went back to Alabama. Anyhoo, I actually have MORE information from a centuries ago than I do from my more recent relatives. I am searching for information on William Jasper Boyett, b. 1838 in Alabama and Married Mary Ann Lee Boyett. They had two sons, Jesse Boykin Boyett, b. 1868 and William Jasper Boyett, b. 1871. Anyone know anything about Jesse Boykin Boyett in the southern Arkansas area?

I am the daughter of Thomas Ashley Boyette, my name at birth was Jennifer Elizabeth Lyles. Him and mom were just unmarried kids when I was born back in 1972 so I went into adoption. He was the brother of Fritz Boyette who I had the great pleasure to meet just several months before he passed away in NC, was that 10 years ago now? David,

in response to your question on Ancestry.com, yes I have additional information. However, I do not have the solution yet. The best theory I have been able to come up with is that Stephen Robertson (1775-1837) was possibly the son of James Robertson and Rachel Pharr/Farr/Phair. However, this is guesswork based on where these people lived and the time frame involved. Maybe I can find one of Stephen's male descendants who is interested in doing dna testing. Then maybe we can figure out which line this family goes to. I will say that for someone born in 1775 Stephen was an uncommon name. Not sure how that helps. I do have a picture of Stephen's son Pleasant who was very rugged looking and had dark hair.

My line stayed in Brown Co., Indiana.

Concerning the Lydia Boyett born 1812 in Wayne County NC (Her father was Joseph Wesley Boyett). Holly T believes this person is related to William Finley Crockett who married Clorinda/Clorence Boyett who moved to Arkansas County in Arknasas. Some sources show Clorinda/Clorence died in Marshall Hall, Obion, TN and William F. Crockett married again (to Sally Bryant). William died in Arkansas City, Arkansas, AR USA.
Do you show any children of Clorinda/Clorence and W. F. Crockett?

Hello David. I just came across your Ballard information by accident, via a Google search on my grandfather, Arthur Ballard. Your Ballard tree goes from William (1617-1689) through Levi Ward Ballard, down to my parents, Francis Ballard and Evelyn Gardner. I am astounded that the tree is totally accurate so far as I know, but there is information in it that was difficult for me to find, such as all three of Levi's wives. How did you find all this? I am new to this, so haven't navigated enough to see if you are in my Ballard line somewhere. (Actually, in some of the comments below, I see persons referenced named "... Ballard Boyett." This is all fascinating!

Hello David. I was curious about the Lydia Boyett born 1812 in wayne county nc. Her father was Joseph Wesley Boyett. I have a Lydia Boyett in my family. Tombstone in Crocketts Bluff AR reads born 1820. She married James Allen Ragan born 1819 in Humphreys or Obion County, TN. They later moved to Arkansas County AR. In the 1880 AR Census a Florinda Crockett age 13 was living with James and Lydia Ragan. I believe this person is related to William Finley Crockett who married Clorinda/Clorence Boyett who moved to Arkansas County in Arknasas. I believe Lydia and Clorinda to be 1st cousins. I wondered about the approx. 1812 birth date you have for Lydia and am wondering if these two Lydia's are the same person. What are your thoughts?
