This picture was taken just before the demolition of Laburnum Cottage in the late 1960s. It was replaced by Laburnum House, which cost £12,000 when new! My brother BRIAN SOPP took this picture (and the other one of the cottage,) and it's his Mini parked in Longround (the lane) beside Mr & Mrs Holme's house, just visible in the foreground. Mr Holme was the butler at North Sydmonton House.(Mr Holme's house is now occupied by Baron Turner of Ecchinswell.)
