My wife and I drove up to the Wellsboro area for a romantic, winter getaway on Friday. It was a combo birthday/Valentine’s Day retreat. Our goal was to just spend a lot of quiet time together and relax. We had planned on hiking in some of the more remote areas but the temperature was just too bitterly cold. Instead we explored via the Jeep, cruising a few different back areas and Jeep trails. We’re looking forward to exploring some of these places at a later date, for sure!
At the end of the day, as we walked around Hills Creek State Park, where we’ve rented a cabin for the weekend, we spotted a few brave souls out on the ice, fishing. Brrrr… we were dressed in layers, with wool and were still cold. I cannot imagine how chilled these guys were! I hope they caught some nice fish at least!
This image is not “photoshoped” to get that deep, black background. I just exposed the image to capture the men and the ice, the sun was behind them and the steep, shaded hill beyond them. I sort of like the effect and how their orange snow suits jump out of the image.
