Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

At lunch today I decided to go for a walk like I did when it was always cold out! It’s kind of funny but I haven’t been poking around Oakland, where I work, as much as I had. I guess it’s due to the extra daylight I get after work…

Anyway, I had an intuitive feeling to go to the other side of the building where the Library entrance is. As I rounded the corner I saw people pointing at something. It was this Red-tailed hawk, Buteo jamaicensis, the same one I shot hunting a rabit last winter. Now it’s hunting pigeons on the Library lawn.

Getting close ! What a detail, and how intime, at the same time. The feathers in brown over the white ones, appear as designed by God - Wonderful ! Interesting your -1 EV

Poor pigeon, lucky hawk though. Must have been hungry to hunt in a "congested" area.
Kewl closeup btw.
