Slippery Rock Creek, PA

Having the day off today, I decided to go for a hike to one of my favorite haunts. This was taken along Slippery Rock Creek just below the ruins of Frew Mill. Years ago, a friend and I used to fly-fish along this stream every Sunday for 6-8 hours all year round. We did this two years straight and I really can say I know this place like the back of my hand! LOL It was very gray and snowing a lot as I hiked in. Suddenly the sky opened and I became so excited about trying to get this shot I literally risked my butt. Climbing out on a dead tree that arched over the ice to a rock, I scooted along, breaking the ice covering the log with my feet. What is it about “getting the shot” that makes me do crazy things?? Anyway, I really needed to get outdoors and I feel 100% better, even if I did fall on my rump twice! LOL

It does look very peaceful. I can hear the flow of the river.
