I Loove your work! It's perfection and inspiration. I'm wondering what kind of lens you've used making the milk meets coffee-pictures.. An ordinary macro lens? I'd like to try making these kind of pictures too. Any tips?
Best regards,

Roger K. "Rog" WILSON 30-Apr-2009 00:16
Your "milkdrop" photos are fantastic and extremely well done.
As a youngster in the 1940's, I was intrigued by HAROLD E. "DOC" EDGERTON (1903-1990) and his high-speed stroboscopic photography. He invented ultra-high-speed and stop-action photography (1931). His "Coronet" milkdrop photo--an early version of yours--was featured in the New York Museum of Modern Art's first photography exhibit (1937).
This information is from -hyperlink-, which you may find very interesting. Though his was a breakthrough 78 years ago, they are primitive compared with yours. It is amazing that he probably had rooms full of equipment that cost many, many thousands of dollars and now you can go well beyond what he did with your affordable equipment. Rog WILSON

Hello Irene, You have inspired me to try out some of my own splash photos (although it would take me millenums to match you in quality). Your shots are incredible (some of the best ones I've seen - especially the coffee ones). I also love your infra red images. Too bad you live so far away... I would pay you to give me a workshop!

I can't believe that people are posting your photos on their sites without your concent. How did you find out? I wonder about the sale of original photos on the web if you can download them for free. Real art collectors want orignial numbered photos, right?

I hadn't seen you for awhile on dpreview so I had to look up an old thread link to find your pbase link. I missed your abstracts, and I was amazed again when I got here. You have some of the best work in the galleries that I have seen. Truly beautiful. Congratulations on the D2x. You deserve it. Try Chris Harpham's chat/gallery (harphampix)and submit there if you have the time. It definitely would approach your caliber of work.

Hi Irene,

It's obvious many people enjoy your work and I'm sure you understand the artful eye that you have. You may be someone rich and famous who makes a good living doing this, I don't know. But what I do know, (from experience)is you have a gift, a gift and a talent. This may be your legacy. Take it and run, do something with it, you are gifted.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm actually putting one of those images up in a gallery here in DC on Monday. I must say that I am a huge fan of your work with colored water. What's your secret? Send me a message some time. I'd love to pick your brain.

Hi Irene,
Was going to comment on your "milk meets coffee" shots at dpreview, but the thread was already full. Just wanted you to know that those are fantastic shots and I really appreciate you sharing them with us. Thanks!

Would love to know how you capture the smokes shots and what you do to give it color? Love all your photos. Even tried my hand at the creative balls and impressed my wife which isn't the easiest thing to do when it comes to photography.

Hi Irene - Pleasure to have met you and thanks for the comments on my site. Spent some more time looking through you galleries today - some lovely work. You've chosen some extremely interesting subjects and have executed exceptionally. I will be coming back to see more! By the way - at your request, I have posted some initial impressions of the D200 on my site: Personally, I think the dpreview forum has gotten out of control lately re the D200 and have no intention of starting a thread over there on this topic but you're very welcome to check out the above thoughts. Hope it helps. Kind regards, Lawrence

Hope this of use.

Hi Irene,
It´s so nice to see these wonderful experimental shot galleries in your collection,i´ve only seen so few people( like davenit for eg) on pbase who are interested particularly in this field of photography than what most of the others here(including me)does ,and you are one of the best i´ve seen and moreover ,you are the only one who´s explaining how to do it.
thankyou verymuch.

Hi Irene
I enjoy your postings on D70 forum and decided I must take a look at your gallery. I am glad I did, you have some great images and nice use of Photoshop techniques. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing! BTW, I disagree with an ealier postee asking why so few images? In this case, the saying "Less is more" holds true. I get the feeling of being left wanting to see more as opposed to being overloaded!
Guest 02-Nov-2005 21:44
Hi Irene,
Your images are superb! Very creative. Keep up the great work.
Massimo 29-Oct-2005 14:01
Sincere congratulations for your images. Your shots are the type I like more, also me I like shooting smoke, IR (postprocessed in the same way as you) and flower details.
Jakob Ehrensvärd23-Oct-2005 20:15
Very cool shots - your "waterwork" and "smokework" is spectacular and kudos to your creativity !
Guest 18-Oct-2005 03:38
Hi Irene, I really enjoyed your galleries. I like your creativity and your purist approach to photography as an art form. However I'm puzzled at the size of your photo collection. Why have you taken so few pictures in the 7 months since you signed up? I'd love to see more from you.

Drop by at my galleries if you have time. I'd love to read how you think about them.

Guest 23-Jul-2005 19:38
Hello Irene,
Excellent photographs. Your compositions reflect great care and consideration in your work. Well done!
