The Central Road of Bhutan.

The construction of the 580 kilometers of this road (called "Lateral Road") from Timphu, the capital, in the western part of Bhutan, to Trashigang, on the eastern part, started in 1965 but was only finished in 1975 due to the great difficulties occurred by the mountains and the forests to cross. The tarspraying took another ten years.
