CORNOUAILLE : Lights and Colors.

Cornouaille covers all the south part of Finistère «département» at the western end of France, from the meanders of the river Aulne to the south coast and beyond, to the Glénan archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean.

Sources vary as to the origin of the name "Cornouaille".
According to some, "Cornouaille" ("Kernev" in Breton) was the name given by migrants coming in the V century from the British Cornish (Known as "Kernow" then "Cornwall").
Other researchers find its origin in the Latin "Cornugallia" which means "corner of Gaul."

The beauty of its landscapes and powerful lights that cross the land and sea attracted painters like Paul Gauguin, Emile Bernard and others in Pont-Aven ; Henri Matisse at Cap Sizun. When he came back the latter declared : "I returned from my trip with a passion for all the colors of the rainbow " ...
