I am so saddened to learn of Dales passing . He was my late husband Steve's best friend . They spent many a year at the club where they worked together . Dale was an inspiration to all who knew him .His charactor matched his talent , and his heart and love for those around him . He was a friend you could count on no matter what . Now my only question is ..where are the nude photos he took of me ???? LOL my " Brown Bag Brigade " has moved the party upstairs , they are now truly where the party never ends . RIP Squire

I am truly saddened to hear of this immense loss. I had only recently begun "pbasing" with Dale and thought of his work and words as visionary. I looked forward to his comments as they carried much weight. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Dale, you and your beautiful photographs will be missed. I have posted a gallery dedicated to you - Winter Salmon Stream - I think you would have appreciated it.

I was just so sad to learn about Dale! He was truly an inspiration for me and really helped get me started with animal photography as well as editing techniques. The favorite thing I remember about him is how one day at the zoo he helped me take pictures of lions - he set down his own equipment and started doing some exaggerated crouching and sneaking to attract the lions' attention to my camera. I appreciate everything you did, Dale! Thank you.

To my friend Dale who is celebrating Christmas face to face with the creator of all the beauty Dale loved to capture with his camera. Thank you Dale.

There are no words to communicate the shock, love and loss. Dale shared, inspired and gave so much to so many with his ever present wit. A chance to spend time with Dale in his loved Northwest was high up on my bucket list. I'll see you on the other side...

my ed is crying as i write this! startling news -- dale escorted us all over seattle when we were on a trip there a few years ago. he was a true gentleman and that gentleness was always present in his photography. (i had left him a note under one of his images just a couple of weeks ago and he responded saying how much he appreciated my comment.) oh dale, i am so so sad.....shu

So sad to hear about this - Dale was a genuine and warm person and I was glad to have met him.

I am just reading these messages now and I don't know what happened. Dale has been my photography friend since 2003. I sent him a note a few days ago and he did not respond so I started to worry. Dale recently encouraged me to pick up my camera again as I've had a very difficult 2010 with a family loss. We often spoke of God's provision and grace. Dale always encouraged me. I will miss Dale very much. He was an active part of an online community of photographers. May God hold him and keep him.

I will miss seeing the wonderful images Dale created. His wry wit and intelligent observations in his titles and captions often made you think and or laugh. More than that I will miss his friendly advice couched in hilarious metaphors.
Vaya con Dios, Dale... Vaya con Dios

Dale: I attended the Maple Valley Library Digital Photography class and loved it! Some of your photos made me wonder....How did he do that? I'll use your suggestions of patience, being ready to wallow in mud and (ahem) reading the manual that came with my camera. Thanks again for a very informative class.

Hello Dale,

I recently attended your workshop at the Mercer Island CC. I spoke with you briefly after everyone had gone. I intended to sign your guest book sooner, but somehow put it off, then forgot. I have taken a few pics today of spring around my area and will post them on my Facebook profile. I have discovered some very interesting extreme effects I can use from Photoshop on them. Will go back and save the effects for comparison.
Nice meeting you. I enjoy nature pics the most, as you seem to.

Hey Dale...Loved the Redmond Library presentation, and your relaxed style was a treat. Now I want to go to the zoo and see things thru my cammera's eye. I've been refreshed:>) Thank you!!!

Dale,

We just moved to Redmond and discovered we missed your photography class at the library by one day! Where can we go to see where your next classes are being offered?!

Some people are "not" car people-- others of us ARE. Those of us who are, it warmed the cockles of our hearts :)

Dale , tell me just when did you have the time to take all the photos that you did ? to say the least they are as good as any that I have ever seen.they are so realistic that you can almost taste the dust in some of them, as I know that is where you like to roam.Dale have you ever thought of soliciting some of them to the National Geographic ?any way that is a thought as I said they are good enough for a gallery showing. well I will close for now , come by and when you see the Volvo in the drive I am home as ever Gordy.
