This Scaly-breasted Hummingbird dropped in for a minute or two during our visit to Costa Rica earlier this month. I had been photographing a honeycreeper and looked down to make some adjustments to my camera then looked back up and this hummingbird had taken its place. I was pretty happy to get it since as I recall, this was the only individual of this species that we encountered during our visit.
