This Picazuro Pigeon was hanging out next to a pond near our rooms one morning during our visit to the Pantanal. I was heading out to try to get a closer look at some other birds and noticed it pecking around and thought it made for a nice setting so I got down low for a better background. By the time I was in position I had caught the bird’s attention and got some great eye contact.
