Lt. Stroup is my Uncle, he unfortunately passed away in November of 1988.

My first assignment was given by Lt. Devine....he called me out of the hootch, Pvt. Calabaza, I understand you fired expert on the M60, congradulations, you are my gunner...gee thanks alot SIR...

I came across this site & began looking at all of the amazing pictures that have stirred up emotions I can't begin to put into words. I am seeing these photos of my husband, Joe Devine, for the first time. Joe died on Oct 19, 2006. The best thing that happened to him in the years before he died was reconnecting with the guys with whom he served. They will never know how much it helped him to exorcise to some degree the demons which undoubtedly haunt(ed) you all. I will make sure our son sees these pictures & this site.
