CPT (Doctor) Edward Crum

CPT (Dr.) Edward Crum was our Battalion Surgeon in late '67 through early '68. He was a very quiet, intelligent and capable physician. In the jungle after the Battle of Ong Thanh he personally saved the lives of soldiers who were too badly wounded for the skills of us combat medics. Doc was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for valor.

You have big shoes to fill. We had over 130 casualties that day and he was the only physician out there. Doc was one of the best.

I just googled myself for the first time and this came up. This pic may not be of me ... however, I am also currently known as Doc Crum and I am also currently in the service specializing in Combat/Tactical Medicine. Quite amusing.
