Lt. Al Bracey was the 3rd Platoon leader during most of Operation Shenandoah II. Since I was only with the platoon for a short time before I became the Senior Aidman of Bravo Co., I didn't get to know him very well. I thought Lt. Bracey was was an excellent platoon leader who believed in taking care of his men. John McCoy spent his tour with the Third Herd of Bravo Co. and had deep respect for Lt. Bracey and his leadership. John's comments about Lt. Bracey are below. Unfortunately, both men have passed away, John in April of 2009, leaving behind them a legacy of respect and brotherhood.
