Hi Curt - I just happened on your site an WOW ! You brought it all back. I was in Coudersport Oct. 1977 ? My Dad's friend had a cabin up there and took me along for some turkey hunting. We didn't get one but I was awed by the the scenery. Just magical for a 14 year old boy from NYC. It's a place that will always be in my heart, my soul and memories. I think about it often, and thanks to your wonderful pictures I can go anytime I want. Thanks !

my name is David Prouty, son of Glenn Prouty, grandson Of Eva Arminda Prouty. All lived in Prouty Pa in the late 1800's and early 1900s. Dad was born in the log cabin on the prouty in 1902. Any info of any nature would be WONDERFUL. I have been to Prouty Park several times in my 70 years and will return this summer IF I CAN.... I Love God;s Country!!!!! It is In my blood. I am also looking for b urial spots of my kin.

Having lived in Germania for 10 years I have to say these are truly magnificent pictures. Rich vibrant colors, wonderful composition and beautiful lighting. Also having spent considerable time at Lyman Lake- including ice fishing - you have captured the lake in its many phases. Keep up the "clicking".

I really enjoyed your Potter County pictures. I have fond memories of visiting this area with my family growing up. Prior to the CCC Cabin being relocated to the Museum, it was leased by a group of hunters, including my Dad, Harold. We had many adventures visiting God's County and staying at that very cabin!

Awesomely breathtaking photos. I am just sad that now that beautiful Potter county -- God's country -- will be littered with 450 ft industrial wind turbines. Industrial wind is not the solution to our energy problems. Wind needs conventional sources as backup and does not add more than a piddle of electricity, if at all. And the wind industry itself says they need 60 acres per megawatt. This amounts to enegy sprawl. To ruin our healing landscapes for a "feel-good, do-nothing measure" is a travesty.

Hi Curt: Love your shots of Potter County. My family lived on Bark Shanty Road in Austin, just north of the dam, then we moved to Westfield in Tioga County, ending up in Sweden Valley, just a short distance from the 9th tee box on the golf course. Moved to NJ in 1958. I haven't been back since 1969, but your photos make me want to bring my wife to Potter in the near future. She has never been to "God's Country." Many thanks. As always, Curt brings out the beauty of Potter County. His photographs are breaktaking and should be displayed in a musuem of Natural History. I am very impressed with the photos. It has been a few years sinse I have been out towards Grand Canyon PA....it was fun looking at the photos and remembering those places I have visited!!

My family has a cabin in Potter County and for the last 45 years, I've visited now and then. I logged onto the internet to see if I could find any information about Lyman Lake and to my surprise, stumbled upon your pictures. Great pictures! I've found what I was looking for and recognize all of the pictures........you should add some of Germania and Carter Camp too. Thanks for posting these!
