Hi-enjoyed your article and images about your trip south. I am a photographer and have a trip planned for 2012. Can you tell me what type of drybag you used to keep your equipment dry during the landings?

Hi Chris - I'm doing this same trip in 5 weeks time (with Quark Expeditions but on their Clipper Adventurer). Seeing your beautiful photos only makes me more excited than I already was (if that's possible!). You are very talented.

I got the link to your photos from the Amateur Traveler website. You take absolutely gorgeous photos... really amazing. Thanks for sharing them!! I have a Nikon D90 and love taking photos of my trips (www.thesunderlands.com) but they are nothing compared to these photos!! The Antarctica photos just amaze me, Mongolia horses are great, bears and pandas.

Chris-
You are a wonderful photographer- the wildlife and vistas are incredible. I loved the photo of you holding the Panda bear too!! Well- the opportunity to travel and photo-shoot must make all those long lawyering hours worth it. Thank you for sharing the beauty and the serenity of life captured in your photography.

Dear Chris -

I just returned from a week in Xi'an (June 7) and found your website and pictures from last year in Xi'an. I took lots of pictures but did not begin to achieve the scope or quality of yours. I am so happy to see such good shots of the beautiful things in Xi'an. Your pictures are amazing!

Question - Did you see the long outdoor mural-type composition of points in the history of Xi'an, located on West Street a few blocks from the Bell Tower? It is the backdrop of a park area and extends about 2/3 of a city block. The figures are in bronze and are arranged on a white background. It is a beautiful depiction of the story of Xi'an over the centuries. I haven't studied my pictures of this mural yet, but want to arrange them in some way that shows the story. If you know anything about this mural, let me know.

Thanks - Nancy

My son, Andy, sent me the link to your pictures. He knows that his Mom and Dad are avid bird watchers and nature nuts. Your bird pictures are truly outstanding.
