Hello Charlie,
What a joy to see the early photos of the Kern Canyon. I have my mother’s stereopticon photos from several long pack trips with her dad, F M Brininstool, in the 1920’s going from Camp Nelson, Quaking Aspen through that wilderness. They often camped on the western side of Mt Whitney and occasionally rode out through Farewell Gap into Mineral Springs Pack Station. My mom, dad and a couple friends from Camp Nelson took me, ages 9 and 10, on the same trip from Quaking Aspen to Golden Trout Creek for a two week stay in the mid 1940’s. In 1988 a childhood friend from Camp Nelson and I rode from Mineral King to Farewell Gap, my own farewell to that glorious wild country. The essence of that wilderness has shaped my life. I’ve often said that the sound of my heaven is the sound of the afternoon breeze high in the Sierra pines, and my heaven will appear as a high Sierra mountain meadow with a stream gurgling through it, and a split rail fence for me to lean on.

Hello Charles, My name is Frank and I am interested in your photos or postcard views from Punta Rassa. Could you tell me anything about them. I am an avid collector of Punta Rassa and have some great views from the hotel owners actual family photo album. Thanks, Frank I can be reached at captivausa@comcast.net

Hello Charles, I really admire your work. This is Tom, I spoke with you at the Gala event for this year's Bay Days at the Harbour Centre. I have been looking without success for the brand name of the light diffuser you were using on the 20D, which I also had just recently purchased. I have left you a message on the phone yet haven't heard back. Could you please let me know what the diffuser is? I though you said Sto Fen, yet what I have seen does not look like the set up that you had. Can't wait to see the post from this year's events. Thanks, Tom Delaney

Hello, I had a blast at the event this year,.....

The photos came back great from Hampton!

Any clue who this gentleman is?? He was in another photo as the sleeping pirate.. it made headlines in another thread a long time ago and we couldn't figure out who this pirate was.

thanks so much, here is the link :

Love the pictures - I have put a link to your gallery out where a bunch of us from that weekend can get to it.

I really love the one of me with the "fire on the barrel"

Thanks, Jester.
The Blackbeard Festival was a shooting paradise. My daughter-in-law works for the folks that organized it. She's the one that put me on to it (and also onto the safety boat during the 'sea battles'. Were you there? A pirate perhaps? The festival seems to be a big deal among the reenacters.

I'll be shooting the Bay Days Festival there the weekend after Labor Day.

Love your work and the photos, ESPECIALLY the ones of "The Blackbeard Festival" (in Downtown Hampton). Keep up the great "shooting" and I hope to be seen *wink* *wink* ;) In your future works of art! Thanks!
