At first I thought the people walking were the focal point of the pic then later realized they are not, it's the whole scene.

I’m glad, Jano, you defend my «artistic» honor ;-) The place has, indeed, a relaxing charm, especially in this season when it is not yet crowded with masses of tourists (as usually during the summer). — aam1234: let’s not exaggerate now in the other direction: I do not think the image is «excellent» either; it’s—in my own humble opinion—just an interesting take on the challenge-topic (due to the framing with the trees). But the flaw you mentionned earlier is really there; you just overdid your critisim with the the, IMHO, unlucky choice of word(s)... — db.

All images have their flaws, but I don't think you "missed the shot" at all... It is really eye catching and the image itself makes you look around and just enjoy the scenery. The trees overlooking the mountain tops is a treat. A wonderful place to simply sit back and shoot away I think. Lucky you. jano

aam1234: That I «missed the shot», as you put it so subtly, I had known before entering it into the gallery (though I’m sure I’d find—as Brent did—a less harsh expression than yours to describe the obvious flaw...); but I uploaded it anyway because after returning from a one week’s holiday I was amazed to find three suitable pictures taken during the challenge-period without my having known the challenge-theme. There is a—slightly—better but—much—less on-topic image of the same subject I’ll put into Pending for you to compare. Anyway: I prefer being told I «missed the shot» to not getting any reactions at all as happens with the mini-series of old images I entered in Exhibition... ;-))

Brent and COAmature: I’m glad you two seem to agree that this photo is, with all its evident shortcomings, an acceptable entry here thanks to its «framing». BTW: I’m an absolute layman in botany, therefore I can’t give you the name for those trees; if I’ll find out, I’ll let you know... The similarity of sights on your image is indeed striking, Brent (and I think you got a very nice photo there that might gain a lot from being cropped on the lower third).

I looked at this pic a long time. Enjoyed it very much. Love how the angle of the tree branches match those of the mountain tops. Plus I've never seen this type of tree before. -COAmature

Just found an image on my Smugmug site I took in 2001 at the neighboring lake Daniel, so similar- you can see why your image brings back memories :-)

Ah, this brings back fond memories of a short stay I had in the nearby village of Lugano. In this place also was a nice walk along the lake and those very cool trees- do you know what they are Daniel? I suppose the people in the foreground don't quite flatter the image, but I still really like this overall.

Sorry Danial, but I think you missed the shot. Either the two front people be sharp or very blurred (from motion). They are in between in this photo.
