Wow cracking macro..:>

Now that is a macro!
The screen adds nicely to the DOF effect.

Excellent macro shot. Love the DOF and colors here.
Great job.

Thanks CJ, Jano, Techo and Britt! It was a somewhat lucky shot as I shot it handheld. It's also one success out of several failed attempts since this guy wouldn't stop walking around, let alone flying around!

Fantastic shot!

Copy that, Jano. It's way cool background with cool neon colors. Christina, you did a great job, especially with the focus and composition.

Terrific! I don't think I could EVER get this close to a fly, set up my tripod, fumble with my settings, sneeze, get the hair out of my eyes...etc). I really like the background as it compliments this image so very well. jano

Great macro shot Christina and you couldn't do better, I don't think, even with a DSLR and a macro lens! That is a super shallow DOF. You did a terrific job focussing on those big eyes. :-) CJ

Oved, thanks! And you should get the macro attachment. Fifty bucks. Easy! There goes that excuse! As for flying away, well, I'm sure you'll come home with tons of awesome shots! Have fun!

Wow! (well _I_ can't do such DOF with my S1IS cause just got the "bare" camera :-) Would have certainly tried the limits of the S1 if I was not flying tomorrow for a long vacation... (how these for excuses? :-) /Oved

PS. Both are the truth.

Thanks guys! I also do add a Raynox 2.5 close up screw on lens to the camera for the macro stuff, so it's not "just" the camera. But I must say sometimes this little thing impresses me. (The camera, not the fly!) Or maybe I impress myself, don't know! But still, I'm saving my money for a DSLR as I think I could get more consistent shots with something that actually has good glass!

Mary Anne, you'd laugh if you saw me chasing this thing around the house this afternoon. I was laughing at myself. It was fun though! Great way to take a break from paper writing!

Bleeding fantastic DOF shot & from a point & shoot camera, I might have to change the topic rules now:-)
This works so well because there's not a big area of blur in the front there's just enough. Excellent shot Christina:-)

Wonderful Christina! Really like your composition here and the detail is quite impressive.

Great shot, Christina. You even trained it to stay still for you. LOL
