Rod, That's an interesting point. Just let me say again, I do really like this shot :)

Some of the best landscape painters left these sort of details in which enhances their aesthetic values many years later. If I were painting this I would definitely paint them in as long as they were easy to paint:-)

Techo, thanks for showing your alternative. Nothing is distracting from nature any more. I wonder which version I prefer. Rod is right; these small white posts are part of reality, they are bordering even the narrowest tarred road here. But I am sure I would not have painted them in if I would have been able to find a similar place without them.

I don't know what your friend means Techo, these road markers don't add any originality, but they do add some realness to what could have been just another pretty shot. So I think this would make a better print than the sanitised version:-)

Just beautiful! I wish I was there!

Almost has a surreal feel to it. Nice job.

I'll just a quote a friend:

"I think it makes a better print with out the signs...
but as far as originality..... it is what it is"

I think that pretty much says it and I agree. In any case it's splendid photo.

-Techo :)

Normally perfection = boring, so I do like the original much better.
aam1234 14-May-2006 05:40
Not too sure, I kind of like it with the signs.
ctfchallenge14-May-2006 01:16
Most splendid shot! Though I must mention that I think it would be perfection without those signs

Will delete that file, no questions asked. Just say the word.

Can't really add to what the others have already said except to add my congratulations on an outstanding shot.

David.

Yes! That's a classic beauty. It would be sad if it's not printed as a poster. It's that good.
alexeig12-May-2006 21:35
This is absolutely classical. Colors, the road bend which points to the tree, palette, all contribute to the feeling of spring joy

Thank you all for your comments, I am glad you like the image. Yes, this shot was really taken with my good old G3, using raw format. I still love this camera. It is much more convenient to carry around than a 10D with a 100-400L lens.
Rod and Paul, perhaps you should think about some topic like "Flowering landscapes in November" next time you win, this would turn the tables ;-)

Indeed it is:-)
Paul 12-May-2006 12:38
May is the beginning of winter indeed with pelicans flying north from the cold and snow. I'm getting confused. Lovely photo this though isn't it?
Rod 12-May-2006 12:19
Wot a boofhead, this shouts Spring not bleeding May. For half the world May is the beginning of winter init.
Paul 12-May-2006 11:47
Excellent. Superb colours and composition. It shouts May
Rod 12-May-2006 11:11
