Original Starbucks Logo*

Seattle

Very different from the current corporate logo, this one in Starbuck's very first store has been left as it originally was when the doors opened in 1971.

Canon PowerShot G6

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nice capture Brent! I can see why the city fathers were a little concerned about the logo - it is a little suggestive! It made me laugh to see you holding the camera way up like that in the reflection. I like the way there are 3 layers we are seeing: the window, the reflections, and the lights and ceiling inside the building. :-) CJ

Apparently people in some markets thought this logo was too "suggestive". Changing the logo didn't seem to slow down their success globally, although here in Seattle we are fortunate to have many higher quality sources for coffee.
Thanks for your comments everyone.

Interesting background on the signage Brent - I've really paid little attention to the Starbucks logo (just the coffee :) Also interesting is the way you are holding your cam. This would be a great image taken at nite I'm thinking to see inside the shop as Sharon says. I guess, on the other hand, what draws my interest is the information reflected off the glass. jano

Nice shot, Brent. I was trying to decide how I felt about the reflection of the cars in the photo when I noticed that we can see you taking the picture. And then I flashed on what a strange place that was for your hands! This might be better if we could see inside the shop instead of seeing the cars reflected. That may not be possible but if it is it would be worth a try. ~Sharon
