Thank you Markjay and PhotoNUT for your kind words. Markjay, you have a good eye/imagination. My first idea was to get an hourglass effect with two lamps but that looked too busy so i tried with left lamp about 2/3 the size of the right lamp, that one was interesting from the composition point of view but didnt feel like "minimal" so decided for this shot. -Abstract

I have a feeling you will be running the next contest : )

To me, a Minimal Style Photo, would be the least amount of detail to get a message across. However, I don’t think a message would be necessary, just a very nice uncluttered photo to make one think. This photo of yours, hits it right on!

This is Excellent, Abstract! A beautiful minimalist image. Wouldn't it be REALLY cool, if there was a second lamp (half circle) on the left side (1/3 the circumfrence size) opposing the other? Please... not to take away how much I LOVE this image, just sparking your imagination :-) Markjay

Thank you Nugar, Shu, Melissa and Rod. I personally prefer the textured surface, whether or not one consider it minimal. It adds an interest and, as Shu mentioned, an element to it. More importantly it makes the shot a "photograph" instead of an "image". -Abstract

I still don't understand what defines a minimalist shot. I was hoping Nico can help us. Very striking shot Abs, well done.

Awesome, love this shot, great eye. I agree with others, I especially love the capture of the texture on the yellow.

I agree that it is tough. The problem resides in the definition for all of us that don't have an art training.

One of the elements I like in this image is the texture....let's see, shape, color and texture (are there any more?). These three elements make this a beautiiful image, in my opinion. Although I can't personally define "minimalistic," you know when you've seen one! Tough challenge. Shu

Beautiful image, again the same comment I made to Shu. Maybe it would be more into minimalism if there's no texture. Now, I'm no expert in art!
