Sense of motion (*)

This was perhaps the most difficult shot I've ever taken...
I guess thats why its called a challenge after all :-)
I used a combination of burst shots (took nearly a hundred in total) and photoshop to achieve what i was going for. In the process i learnt a lot of cool new stuff about my camera and about ps.

Canon PowerShot G5
0.80s f/2.0 at 7.2mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I'd be voting for this in a heartbeat if that round thing wasn't there. I don't know what it is, so for me it spoils the shot, which is a shame b/c without it, this is a very, very stunning and unusual shot. I just love the background - which I don't know hwat it is either, but in it's case it doesn't matter, instead it makes me think... is this person standing on a street in a big city at sunrise and reaching out to grasp the day and put his heart and soul into it, giving it everything he's got? It's a beautiful story shot I think would be a great art piece if you'd consider a reshoot without the round object. Fantastic work! ~ Lonnit

Very interesting and unusual composition here and I can really feel muscles stretching. (Maybe I should exercise more!). (*)maybe a tad more sharpness and contrast (try a search on 'local contrast enhancement' if you're not familiar with the procedure) would give it a bit more 'snap'? And what's the round thing?
