* Pepper Scraps

I was making stuffed peppers for dinner and these were the scraps for the garbage. As I put them aside I thought how pretty they were. I was looking in the kitchen for a place to shoot them but I had the 75-300 on the camera which meant I had to be several feet away to focus so the countertops were out. I looked in the living room and saw streaks of light coming across the couch. I set the plate on the back of the couch where the light would stripe across it. The room was bright but the splash of sunlight was intensely bright. Having no experience with lights, I couldn't believe how dark the areas around the streak of light was! It was bright enough to shoot indoors with that big lens, hand held, and yet the shadows came out so beautifully deep and dark! Boy do I have lot's to learn about light! I had no idea I could get something like this in bright daylight!

I like it very much, the compo, the light and the depth of field. Good picture
