Footbridges *

These are footbridges over a frozen canal at a paper mill in Massachusetts. For want of a more scenic bridge, I chose this one for the light and the reflection.

Thanks for the suggestions. You know, I have about a dozen shots from somewhat different angles (oh, the joys of digital!), and I've tried cropping them in all different ways. I thought the photo looked too dull and industrial without the foreground, altho I do agree that it's somewhat distracting. I felt the building and concrete on the left sort of balanced the dark shadows on the right and "anchored" the picture, but I'll fool around with more cropping. It's so helpful to hear what other photographers have to say...you know what to look for in a photo.

Mary Ann, the reflection is nice and the shadows on the building do help to bring out the bridge but to draw the attention even more to it I would crop out the building on the left, same amount on the right and on the bottom so that you can't see the concrete anymore...try it, you might like it :-)...Bee

I think this subject has potential, but IMO the foreground is too dominant and the daylight is more strong than ideal, creating harsh shadows on the building.
