A hill just near our house is a popular place for these kites. People apparently jump off the hill, and stay up in the air for ages, just like eagles.
This was taken with a Crytalvue Sharpshooter 8X32, which mounts on a lens adaptor. Used with full optical zoom (X3), it gives up to X 24, which is a 35mm equivalent of about 840mm (if I calculated it right). The picture quality is not very good, but not too bad for a small and relatively cheap lens.
