Forgot about the mini-wipers comment above. Yes, I noticed the wipers, but I'm not sure what they are. There must have been some weird light behind me.

I want people to be critical! This is one of my favorite images and I want to see what people say about it. I've taken almost 250 images of the little guy. Everytime I go visit the family, I bring my camera. At a recent Super Bowl party, I was snapping away when one of the guests commented that I was like Ben's personal photographer! :-)

The original picture is larger. I thought about cropping out Ben's hand at first, but I decided to keep it in to show him clinging to his dad and being "pensive." I agree that his hand might draw the viewer's eye away from his face, but I think it's more important to show his hand. I do have alternate takes; there's one where Ben's head is pointed to his left a bit and his left hand is showing. I'll try to put that one up tonight to see what you all think.

Thanks a lot for your comments!

A very minor comment - the highlights in his eyes are strange. The diagonal line
looks very unatural - as if he is wearing contact lenses with mini-wipers on them.

Did you think people would be this critical when you asked for comments ? :)

I think the previous points hit all the main things about this picture.

You might want to even crop it half way into the man's head/ back - whatever
places the kid's face on the point of strongest interest.

There are three great things going for you in this shot: 1)the kid's face is much lighter than his surroundings and therefor immediately draws the eye. 2)it's a great POV. 3) the kid is darling.

My only suggestion is that you try cropping it to the point where just the back of the man's neck and the whole of the kid's face shows. He has such a doleful expression. let it fill the frame. That way the eye won't have a chance to wander at all.
